Eight teams make the Mid-American Conference Tournament field.
As it currently stands the Central Michigan University softball team would be on the outside looking in if the season were to end today as the Chippewas have the ninth-best record in the Mid-American Conference.
Over the course of the next week CMU will decide its own fate as it plays six conference games against a pair of teams it’s trying to catch in EMU and Northern Illinois.
Thus the next seven days will be telling for Margo Jonker and company in that it will make or break their season and it all starts on Friday when the Chippewas open a three-game home set against the Eagles.
