AKRON, Ohio – The Central Michigan University softball team closed the 2016 docket out Thursday with a 2-0 loss to Western Michigan University at the Mid-American Conference Tournament from Firestone Stadium.
The eighth-seeded Chippewas (24-27-1) opened the tournament Wednesday with 1-0 loss to top-seeded Kent State and were eliminated Thursday afternoon with the defeat to the fifth-seeded Broncos (22-27).
Allyson Kus dominated in the circle for WMU as she limited CMU to no runs on two hits while walking none and striking out seven in seven innings of work.
The Broncos posted two runs in the top of the third inning and held on from there to advance.
