It was a warm February night in Mt. Pleasant, but it was raining threes inside of McGuirk Arena.
Central Michigan hit 12 shots from distance as it defeated Ball State, 75-51, on Tuesday night. There were five early lead changes before the first media timeout, but back-to-back long balls from David DiLeo just three minutes into the game put the Chippewas (17-13, 6-11 MAC) ahead for good.
“We won’t take this win lightly,” CMU head coach Keno Davis said. “Ball State was one of those teams that were predicted to win the conference. They’re also being picked by some to win the conference tournament.
