Cooper Rush was not exactly a well-known name around the nation prior to last year’s Bahamas Bowl.
But after his record-setting day versus Western Kentucky on Christmas Eve of 2014, the perspective changed considerably.
Rush threw for 493 yards and seven touchdowns in the 49-48 loss, leading the Chippewas to 34 unanswered points and the miracle Hail Mary that very nearly stole the game.
In a finger snap, Rush’s profile went from a relatively unknown commodity only recognized in Mid-American Conference circles to something entirely different.
He is now the guy who put up crazy numbers in one of the craziest games you’ll ever see.
