MILWAUKEE – Tyra Prince tallied three goals for the Central Michigan women’s lacrosse team as it fell to Marquette, 19-7, in its season-opener on Friday at the Golden Eagles’ Valley Fields.
The Chippewas (0-1) are scheduled to go to American on Friday, Feb. 23 (3 p.m.). The Eagles open their season on Saturday against Richmond.
CMU had a one-goal advantage midway through the first half when Shannon Doyle scored on a free position shot, giving the Chippewas a 4-3 lead. Marquette responded with five consecutive goals, and Central Michigan never regained the lead.
