The former Central Michigan University baseball coaching legends were honored at Theunissen Stadium Saturday prior to the start of the Chippewas’ Mid-American Conference showdown against Kent State.
As it was both Keilitz (#34) and Kreiner (#33) had their CMU jersey numbers retired while the Theunissen Stadium diamond was rechristened ‘Keilitz Field’ in honor of the former All-American baseball player, coach and administrator. Over 100 former players returned to Mt. Pleasant to pay homage to this dynamic coaching duo who put Central Michigan baseball on the map decades ago.
