Central Michigan University field hockey coach Molly Pelowski was relieved of her duties Thursday by Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford.
Pelowski will not be re-appointed, Alford said, and a search for the next head coach will begin immediately.
Alford met with the field hockey team Thursday to discuss the future of the program.
“Molly is a loyal Chippewa and has been one of the most warm and welcoming people on the staff,” Alford said. “We have a team of outstanding students who achieve at the highest levels in the classroom. A change is needed so we can put our student-athletes in position to win Mid-American Conference titles.
