On Saturday afternoon from McGuirk Arena veteran Central Michigan women’s basketball coach Sue Guevara tied Donita Davenport (1984-96) for the most career coaching victories in program history with 171 after the Chippewas defeated Western Michigan 94-83.
During the postgame news conference the fact that Guevara (171-139) had just tied Davenport (171-165) for the most career coaching wins was naturally brought up and Guevara’s quizzical response was classic because she didn’t know, didn’t have a clue of what she had just achieved.
