MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Three Central Michigan pitchers combined to allow only seven hits as the Chippewas swept a Mid-American Conference doubleheader from Miami (Ohio), 3-2 and 5-0, on Friday at Margo Jonker Stadium.
The Chippewas (12-15, 2-3 MAC) are riding a three-game win streak and are scheduled to finish the three-game series with the RedHawks with a single game on Saturday (1 p.m.). The RedHawks fell to 13-14, 2-3.
GAME 1
Rachel Vieira drilled a two-out run-scoring triple to give CMU a 1-0 lead in the second inning, and then CMU went up 3-1 in the fourth on RBI singles by Kayla Noch and Allison Curtis.
