DeKALB, Ill. - Central Michigan struck for five runs in the fourth inning Saturday in posting a 6-2 victory over Northern Illinois in the nightcap of a Mid-American Conference doubleheader at the Huskies' Mary M. Bell Field.
It was the regular-season finale for the Chippewas, who take a 22-24 record into the MAC Tournament next week in Akron, Ohio. CMU's seed and first-round opponent will be determined after the completion of play on Saturday. The Chippewas finished 12-11 in MAC play.
