EAST LANSING, Mich. – Central Michigan won six matches -- three by major decision and one via technical fall – Friday in downing Michigan State, 23-12, in a nonconference wrestling dual at the Spartans’ Jenison Fieldhouse.
The win lifted CMU to 3-1. The Chippewas, who are ranked 16th, go to No. 8 Missouri on Sunday for a MAC dual (2 p.m.). CMU dropped its league-opening dual to Northern Iowa, 17-16, last weekend.
“it’s a big challenge for us,” CMU coach Tom Borrelli said of the meet with Missouri, which is 8-2 overall, 5-0 MAC.
