MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Two days after the first shutout of the season, it was another first shutout for the Central Michigan baseball team.
This one to the bad.
Michigan State struck for three runs in the first inning and three Spartan pitchers limited the Chippewas to seven hits on Tuesday as MSU handed CMU a 7-0 nonconference loss at Theunissen Stadium.
It marked the first time the Chippewas, who committed four errors in the game, have been shut out in 2017. CMU posted its first shutout on Sunday, 15-0, at Toledo.
