MACON, Ga. -- The Central Michigan softball team split its first two games of the season on Friday at the Mercer Invitational.
The Chippewas started the day with a 4-1 loss to Morehead State, and then topped Appalachian State, 12-6, in the nightcap.
HITTING STAR
Erika Underwood blased a three-run homer in the first inning and then ripped another three-run round-tripper to highlight a six-run third to lead the Chippewas against Appalachian State (0-2).
Allison Curtis homered for CMU against Morehead State.
