NORMAL, Ill. -- The Central Michigan gymnastics team rebounded from its first loss of the season with a nonconference victory at Illinois State on Friday.
The Chippewas posted a 194.525 score in improving to 5-1. Illinois State (1-3) finished at 192.025. It was CMU’s second victory of the season over the Redbirds.
Bryttany Kaplan and Katy Clements each won two events to pace CMU. Kaplan captured the vault and the uneven bars, while Clements was first on the floor exercise and the balance beam.
CMU sophomore Denelle Pedrick won the all-around with 39.
