Central Michigan University Athletics announced that Populous, a famous architectural and design firm known for sport facilities, will design the 'Champions Center' at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The design includes meeting spaces, an alumni center and CMU Advancement team offices, according to CMU athletics.
Alford said the design also includes a new locker room, nutrition center and rehabilitation center for athletes.
Populous designed the CMU Soccer and Lacrosse Complex, which opened in September 2015. Populous has constructed famous stadiums around the world including the Arena das Dunas — a stadium built for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
