This was not your ordinary Central Michigan baseball regular season.
With injuries all over the board and expectations that were not met in the first two-plus months, there was plenty of disappointment from the Chippewas at where they stood in the win-loss column.
But the schedule did not end on April 20 when CMU’s record was a lowly 8-29 following a one-run loss at Notre Dame.
There were plenty of games left to play and Central Michigan did the exact opposite of fold, instead showing fortitude in winning 13 of its last 19 games including victories the last two days over rival Western Michigan.
