You have to go back to 1970 to find the last time Central Michigan hosted a postseason tournament game.
That streak will come to an end Wednesday at 7 p.m. as the Chippewas (17-15) host Tennessee-Martin (19-14) in a CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament first round game at McGuirk Arena.
It will also be the first time in CMU’s program history that it will compete in a postseason tournament two years in a row. Last year, Central Michigan made the National Invitational Tournament and lost 89-79 in the first round to Louisiana Tech.
“We all wanted to hear our name being called in the NCAA Tournament,” Chippewas head coach Keno Davis said.
