The weirdness of Central Michigan’s season continued Friday night.
Playing the regular season finale on Senior Night versus rival Western Michigan at McGuirk Arena, the Chippewas had plenty on the line in terms of the Mid-American Conference West Division title and seeding for next week’s MAC Tournament.
Instead of busting right through, CMU instead took the back door to Cleveland as it lost 91-82 in overtime to the Broncos.
Central Michigan earned a share of the MAC West championship and the fourth seed in the MAC Tournament regardless of its outcome as Ball State fell 80-69 at Northern Illinois.
