EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Central Michigan baseball team committed five errors and stranded 10 base runners Wednesday in falling to Michigan State, 4-1, in a non-conference game at the Spartans’ McLane Stadium.
The Chippewas (4-17) have lost five straight games. They are scheduled to open Mid-American Conference play at home this weekend with a three-game series against Kent State. Game one is scheduled for Friday at Theunissen Stadium at 3:05 p.m.
“If our starting pitching improves, and we think it will, and if we pitch the ball well this weekend we’re going to be in those games,” CMU coach Steve Jaksa said.
