PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Illinois State collected 15 hits and used the big inning Saturday in handing the Central Michigan baseball team a 13-7 loss in the Snowbird Baseball Classic.
The Chippewas (3-11) play the final game in the Classic and of their Spring Break trip on Sunday (10 a.m.) against Saint Joseph’s.
The Redbirds (6-8) struck for seven runs in the sixth inning in building a 10-0 lead on the Chippewas.
Alex Borglin had three hits including two doubles and drove in four runs to lead a 14-hit CMU attack.
