Baseball. Chippewas Fall at Northern Illinois

DeKALB, Ill. – The Central Michigan baseball team rallied for three runs in its final at-bat Friday before falling to Northern Illinois, 9-6, in a Mid-American Conference game at the Huskeis’ Ralph McKininzie Field.

The Chippewas and NIU will play a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. CMU is 6-24 overall, 1-3 MAC. The Huskies are 8-21, 4-3.

CMU starter Sean Renzi (2-4) allowed four runs on five hits, walked four and struck out four over five innings in taking the loss.

Michael Brettell and Grant Wolfram each pitched in relief for the Chippewas, who led 2-1 through four innings.
