MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Twenty-one Central Michigan student-athletes were named a Mid-American Conference Distinguished Scholar Athlete by the league.

The honorable distinction goes to students who have excelled both athletically and academically. Those honorees must have achieved a 3.20 or better grade point average, participated in at least 50 percent of his or her team’s competitions and been selected by their institution’s faculty athletic representative as a ‘best of the best’ among those earning a spot on their respective MAC All-Academic squad.

First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
