Case Western Reserve University sophomore catcher/ designated hitter Tyler Wypiszenski was selected as the University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week after helping lead the Spartans to a pair of wins over third-ranked Emory University over the weekend.
Wypiszenski started all four games, going eight-for-14 (.571) with two runs scored, three doubles, seven runs batted in, two walks, and a stolen base. He hit safely in all four games in the series, starting with a one-for-three performance as the designated hitter in the first game on Friday in an 11-1 loss, and then followed with a two-for-four game in the second game of the day as the team's catcher in a 4-0 setback.
