Case Western Reserve University sophomore first baseman/ outfielder Daniel Watson was named the University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week, after helping to lead the Spartans to three wins in four games last weekend.
Watson hit .647 (11-for-17) with two home runs, eight runs scored, eight runs batted in and eight stolen bases on nine attempts, while slugging 1.000 for the weekend with a .667 on base percentage. He began his weekend by going three-for-five with three runs scored, an RBI, a walk and four stolen bases in a 19-12 win over Manchester. He exploded with a five-for-five day at the plate against Manchester in a 13-5 win the following day, scoring three runs and driving in six, while also hitting the first two home runs of his career and stealing two bases.
