Case Western Reserve University junior outfielder/ catcher Jake Ryan hit three home runs, and the Spartans slugged six home runs as a team, as CWRU picked up a statement win on Thursday afternoon with a 21-10 victory over the 11th-ranked College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.
The win raised the Spartans' record to 19-11 overall, while Wooster fell to 17-7 with the loss. The 21 runs scored by CWRU were the most by the team since a 21-0 win over Westminster (Pa.) on April 5, 2014.
It was the first career multiple home run game of Ryan's career, and marked the first time that a Spartan player has hit three home runs in a game since senior second baseman Rocco Maue slugged three against Roger Williams on March 14, 2018.
