Case Western Reserve University clinched a series win over New York University on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Violets 15-4 in seven innings at MCU Park in Brooklyn, New York in the last game of the four-game weekend series.
The Spartans won three of the four games against NYU, improving to 15-12 overall and to 9-3 in University Athletic Association play. It marked CWRU's ninth win in their last 10 games, and their 13th victory in the team's last 16 games. The Violets fell to 12-7 overall and 1-3 in the UAA with the loss.
Case Western Reserve finished the game with 12 hits, while drawing nine walks and stealing six bases on Sunday, en route to the win.
