The Case Western Reserve University football team made its initial appearance of the season in the D3football.com top-25 rankings this week, checking in at 23rd in the week eight poll, released on Sunday.
It marks the first time that the Spartans have been ranked by the organization since the final poll of the 2009 campaign. CWRU is the only University Athletic Association squad currently ranked, and one of two Presidents Athletic Conference teams in the poll, along with 11th-ranked Thomas More College.
The jump in the poll comes following Case Western Reserve's 35-28 victory over Washington and Jefferson College (ranked 15th in last week's poll and receiving votes in this week's) under the lights at DISanto Field on Saturday.
