Shields Matches Career Win Record in 7-4 CWRU Win over John Carroll

Case Western Reserve University senior Jake Shields pitched seven strong innings to earn his program record tying 24th career win and lead the Spartans to a 7-4 victory over John Carroll University in their final home game of the season at Nobby's Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon.

Working on just three days rest, Shields allowed two earned runs and three total on six hits and two walks, while striking out five batters in the game. With the win, he improved to 6-3 overall on the season, and to 24-10 for his career, matching the record set by former CWRU pitcher Jamie Hora (2010-13).
