Freshman quarterback Drew Saxton of the 19th-ranked Case Western Reserve University football team, was named the University Athletic Association Football Athlete of the Week for Offense, and the Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, after his standout performance during the Spartans' 49-23 win at Grove City College on Saturday night.
Saxton completed 24-of-34 passes in the game, including each of his first seven and 12 of his first 13. He finished the game with 361 yards, the 11th-most in a single game in program history, the second-most ever by a freshman, and the highest total by a CWRU quarterback since Joey Baum threw for 363 yards against Oberlin on October 9, 2010.
