Case Western Reserve University junior center fielder Samuel Neal was named the University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week, following a strong performance over eight games during the team's Spring Break trip last week.
Neal hit .414 (12-for-29) over eight games last week for the Spartans. He led the team with 12 runs scored, three doubles, two home runs, 12 RBIs and three stolen bases during the week, totaling a .724 slugging percentage and a .553 on base percentage. Highlights from his week including a three-for-five performance with a double, two runs, and an RBI in a 9-8 loss to Roger Williams on Tuesday, a two-for-three day with a double, a home run, two runs scored and six RBIs in a 19-1 win against Roger Williams on Wednesday, a two-for-four game with two runs, two RBIs, a stolen base and a home run against Roger Williams on Thursday in an 8-4 victory, and a one-for-three game with three runs scored, two walks and an RBI during an 18-6 win against Trinity on Sunday.
