Case Western Reserve University freshman forward Ryan Newton scored all 11 of his points in the second half, and junior guard Monty Khela added all 10 of his points over the final 20 minutes, helping the Spartans come from behind to top New York University 57-55 on Friday night at Horsburgh Gymnasium.
The win put an end to a three-game losing streak for the Spartans, who improved to 8-5 overall, including a 1-1 mark in the University Athletic Association. NYU dropped to 6-7 overall and to 0-2 in the UAA with the loss.
