Case Western Reserve University senior linebacker Justin McMahon was named the Defensive Player of the Week for both the Presidents' Athletic Conference and the University Athletic Association, after leading a dominating defensive effort for the 17th-ranked Spartans during their 45-7 win at Geneva College on Saturday night.
McMahon finished the game with a team-high 10 tackles (three solo), including 1.5 for a loss, and returned a recovered fumble 68 yards for his first career touchdown. His scoring play occurred on the last play of the first quarter, helping the Spartans extend their lead to 21-0.
