Case Western Reserve University scored 16 runs in the final four innings on Sunday, including 12 in the ninth inning alone, to overcome a pair of one-run deficits and defeat Trinity College (Conn.) 16-8 on Sunday afternoon at the Spartan Southern Classic at Lexington County Stadium in Lexington, South Carolina.
The win was the third-straight for CWRU, which improved to 5-1 overall and to 2-0 at the tournament. Trinity, which opened its season with Sunday's game, fell to 0-1 on the year.
The Spartans registered a season-high 16 runs and 17 hits, while five CWRU pitchers combined to hold the Bantams to just six hits in the game.
