Case Western Reserve University senior guard Monty Khela was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for Men's Basketball, after averaging 25.0 points per game during Spartan wins over Rochester and eighth-ranked Emory last weekend.
Khela was the league's leading scorer over the weekend, making 18-of-30 shots overall (60.0%) and nine-of-15 from three-point range (60.0%), while connecting on all five of his free throw attempts. He added 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a steal during the two games.
During Friday night's 88-87 win in overtime against Rochester, he scored 20 points on an eight-of-13 shooting effort, while making four of six three-point attempts and collecting a pair of rebounds.
