Case Western Reserve University sophomore forward Michael Hollis recorded the first collegiate double-double with a career-high 18 points and 12 rebounds, but it would not be enough for the Spartans, who suffered a 98-78 loss to the University of Chicago Maroons in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans dropped back to .500 with the loss, falling to 12-12 on the year and 6-7 in the University Athletic Association, while Chicago improved to 12-12 overall and to 8-5 in the conference.
Hollis shot six-of-nine from the floor overall, while connecting on one-of-two shots from behind the three-point line and five-of-seven free throws, while also collecting three assists and a block.
