Case Western Reserve University first-year forward Cole Frilling scored a career-high 30 points on Sunday afternoon, leading the Spartans to an 85-77 win at New York University in New York, New York.
The victory snapped a five game losing streak for the Spartans, who improved to 9-9 overall, and reached the halfway point of the University Athletic Association season with a 2-5 conference record. NYU dropped to 7-11 overall and to 0-7 in league play.
Frilling, the UAA leader in points per game during conference play, was efficient both inside and outside the perimeter on Sunday, reaching the 30-point mark for the first time in his career with a 12-of-18 shooting performance overall and connecting on four-of-six shots from behind the three-point line.
