Denove Secures First Career UAA Pitcher of the Week Honor

Case Western Reserve University freshman Nick Denove was named the University Athletic Association Pitcher of Week for the first time in his career, after throwing a complete-game shutout in a 6-0 win over New York University during the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Denove was able to hold NYU (which entered the weekend leading all UAA teams in batting average and runs per game) to just five hits and two walks, earning the win in the game. Despite not striking out a batter, he needed just 91 pitches to navigate through his nine innings of work, allowing just one runner to pass second base in the contest.
