Case Western Reserve University's Patrick Crossey earned a pair of weekly conference awards based on his performance during the team's 26-22 win at Westminster College on Saturday, as the freshman safety was named both the University Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week and the Presidents' Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.
Crossey recorded a career-high 13 tackles and forced a key fourth-quarter fumble, helping the team come from behind for the win. The 13 tackles (10 solo) were the most by a Spartan player in a game this season, and surpassed his previous career-high of ten tackles, set last week against Washington University.
