Case Western Reserve University senior relief pitcher Connor Tagg (Springfield, Va. / West Springfield) was named to the Academic All-America Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America, for both his success both athletically and academically during the 2016 season and over his career.
Tagg becomes the fifth member in the history of the Case Western Reserve baseball team to be named an Academic All-American, and the fourth in the last three years. He joins infielder Tom Mager (1997 First Team), pitcher John Fortunado (2014 First Team), infielder Andrew Frey (2014 Second Team), and infielder Kerrigan Cain (2015 First Team) as Spartans to have won the award.
