Coming off a University Athletic Association Championship and a 9-1 overall record during the 2016 campaign, the Case Western Reserve University football team is ranked 20th among NCAA Division III teams in the 2017 Street & Smith College Football Preseason Top-25.
The Spartans, who also finished second in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 7-1 league record, are slated to return 18 starters from last year's squad and 71 total players, while adding on a freshman class of 45 players. Among the team's top returners will be senior quarterback and UAA Offensive Player of the Year Rob Cuda, senior D3football.
