The Case Western Reserve University football team saw its 2022 season end with a 20-7 loss to 19th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University in the 36th playing of the Academic Bowl at DiSanto Field on Saturday evening.
With the loss, the Spartans end their 2022 campaign with a 6-4 overall record, including a 5-3 record in PAC games.
Carnegie Mellon took a 14-0 lead heading into halftime behind a pair of touchdowns, each on a short field. The Tartans recovered a fumble on the CWRU one-yard line and scored two plays later to go ahead 7-0 with 11:52 to play in the opening quarter.
