The Case Western Reserve University men's basketball team claimed the team title at the Bill Sudeck Holiday Tournament for the second-straight season, defeating Otterbein University 91-83 in the championship game at Horsburgh Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
Junior guard Javier Alvarez scored 20 points off the bench in the victory, setting a new career-best mark for the second-straight day, and earning the tournament's Most Valuable Player honor after averaging 19.5 points during the two games. Senior guard Matt Clark, who earned all-tournament team honors, finished Wednesday's game with a team-high 21 points on a six-of-eight shooting performance from the field.
