The Case Western Reserve University baseball team was swept in a season-opening doubleheader by nationally 15th/16th ranked Shenandoah University on Saturday in Winchester, Virginia, falling 14-0 in the opening game and dropping a 4-2 decision in the second contest.
The Spartans dropped to 0-2 on the season with the pair of losses, while Shenandoah improved to 2-0.
After allowing a run in the second, the Hornets opened a 5-0 lead with a four run second inning. With Case Western Reserve unable to string together anything offensively, Shenandoah continued to extend its lead throughout the game, en route to the win.
