The Case Western Reserve University baseball team split the final two games of its season series with Washington University (Mo.) on Sunday, winning the first game 10-8 before suffering a 9-8 loss in a 10-inning thriller in the second contest of the day from Kelly Field in St. Louis.
With the split, the Spartans now stand at 10-8 overall, while the Bears moved to 15-6. Both teams stand at 2-2 following the opening weekend of University Athletic Association play. CWRU sophomore outfielder Nick Harms and senior catcher Jack Anderson each homered and senior second baseman Owen Levinson drove in a pair of runs for the Spartans in a 10-8 win over the Bears in the opening game of the doubleheader.
