The Case Western Reserve University baseball team opened its four-game series with New York University at Maimonides Park in Brooklyn with a sweep of a doubleheader on Friday, winning the first game 9-4 and securing a 15-3 victory in the nightcap.
The Spartans have now won six of their last seven games to improve to 16-12 overall and got back to .500 in the conference with a 5-5 University Athletic Association record. NYU fell to 12-13 for the season with a 5-8 UAA mark. CWRU's offense totaled 24 runs on 30 hits over the two games on Friday.
