The Case Western Reserve University baseball team's 2017 season officially came to a close early Monday morning, when the team failed to receive an invitation to the NCAA Division III Championship field.
The Spartans closed out their 2017 campaign with an overall record of 24-16, despite facing the toughest schedule in Division III, according to the D3baseball.com strength of schedule measurements. It marked the team's eighth-straight season of 24 or more wins.
