The health, safety and well-being of our student athletes, coaches, staff and community is our top priority. Due to the rapidly changing circumstances related to the CoVid-19 pandemic, Case Western Reserve University Department of Physical Education and Athletics has announced the cancellation of the remainder of the 2020 spring varsity athletics season beginning on Saturday, March 14th.
The announcements follow Thursday's decision by the NCAA to cancel all remaining NCAA winter and spring championship events, including this weekend's indoor track and field championships, and next weekend's swimming and diving championships.
The decision by the NCAA was "based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities.
