Case Western Reserve University sophomore kicker Ben Carniol was named the Special Team Player of the Week for both the Presidents Athletic Conference and the University Athletic Association, while senior defensive lineman Justin Williams earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the UAA, based on their performances during the team's 20-7 win at Geneva College last Saturday.
Carniol connected on both of his field goal attempts during the game, including a career-long 36-yarder with 56 seconds remaining in the first half that gave the Spartans a 10-0 lead. He also hit a 28-yard field goal with 3:05 left in the third quarter, putting the Spartans on top 20-0, and converted both of his extra point tries.
