Case Western Reserve University sophomore Alex Capetillo was named to the All-Regional Tournament Team, following his performance over the Spartans' two games at the NCAA Division III West Regional last weekend.
Capetillo hit .667 (four-for-six) over the two games with a double, two RBIs, two walks and a run scored, while playing perfect defense at second base. He was three-for-five with a run, two RBIs and two doubles during the team's 8-5 loss to 18th-ranked Whitworth University to open the tournament on Wednesday. He followed that by reaching base all three times during the team's 10-0 loss to third-ranked Trinity University (Texas) on Thursday, going one-for-one with a pair of walks.
