Case Western Reserve University first-year linebacker Zach Brown was named the Rookie of the Week in the Presidents' Athletic Conference and the Defensive Athlete of the Week for the University Athletic Association, while sophomore kicker Jacob Lurie secured UAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors, following the Spartans' 53-0 win over Bethany College at DiSanto Field in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday. Brown helped lead the Spartans' defense to its first shutout since the 2017 campaign finishing the game with four tackles (two solo) including 2.0 tackles for a loss. He made a pair of key plays in the first half of the game, stopping the Bethany running back for a loss of a yard on fourth and one, and then tackling the Bethany wildcat quarterback in the end zone for a safety on the Bison's next drive.
